Acrobat Reader X Silent Installation

We started to install Acrobat Reader X on new computers. Here are the command line switches for the setup file:

/sAll              Silent Mode for product
/sPB               Silent Mode with Progress Bar for product
/rs                Reboot Suppress
/rps               Reboot Prompt Suppress
/ini "PATH"        Alternative initialization file
/sl "LANG_ID"      Set Language; LANG_ID - Code in decimal digits
/l                 Enable Error Logging
/msi[Command line] Parameters for MSIEXEC

If you want to do a silent installation, just type this:

AdbeRdr1000_en_US.exe /sAll /rs

This command installs Acrobat Reader X in silent mode and rebooting after installation is suppressed.

Flash Player 10.1 Silent Installation

Adobe has published the latest Flash player 10.1 which fixes a vulnerability that has plagued the player for a while. The download site for the player is here.

If you want to download the version for IE, use Firefox. Otherwise, the player will be installed automatically. Similarly, if you want to download the version for Firefox, use IE.

After you have downloaded the installation files, you can use the following commands to install them silently.

IE:

install_flash_player_ax.exe /install

FireFox:

install_flash_player.exe /install
