One user is having problems with a data acquisition program called AcqKnowledge. The program recognizes the hardware only when logged on as the user who installed the program. No other user can use it. Not even another administrator.

After digging the online resources and the files in the program directory, I found there is a utility called “MP Communication Type Utility”. Any user can run the utility to reset the hardware connection.
