Psychtoolbox Synchronization Failure Fixed

We just bought some powerful gaming laptops to run experiments. The laptops have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M card. They can handle most of 3D games without a problem. When we tried a script for Psychtoolbox, the script failed because of synchronization failure.

This is a very common problem and there is a document with detailed information. I followed some of the suggestions, but they did not solve the problem.

I tried to adjust some settings in the Nvidia control panel. Finally, I found the setting which solves this particular problem. Here are the steps:

  1. Open up Nvidia control panel.
  2. Navigate to 3D Settings -> Adjust Image Settings with Preview.

  3. Click on Use my preference emphasizing and move the slider to Performance.
  4. Click on Apply.

After we made the change, we ran the script again without any error.
