While I was helping a user with his Kodak ESP 9 All-in-one printer, I encountered a problem toward the end of the installation. The system gave out an error code and quit. The installer provided a link to a support page. I followed the steps to unregister windows installer and re-register it again. Here is the support page.
The instructions are for Windows XP. If you use Vista and above, open up an elevated command prompt and type the following commands.
msiexec /unreg msiexec /regserver
