XnView Pocket for PNA

DOWNLOAD

License: Freeware

I have got some requests for a photo slide show program. This is it. You need a copy of AYGSHELL.DLL which I didn’t include in the package. A reader has warned about distributing AYGSHELL.DLL is illegal. Even though I don’t know if the claim is true, I decided not to distribute it for now. You can get it from a lot of places. [Update:] Tim Rude has pointed out the AYGSHELL.DLL I have distributed in the past is actually not a MS product and it’s legal to distribute it. I have included the DLL in the package now. Thanks, Tim!

Use FileMan CE to invoke XnPocket.exe in the directory or create a shortcut on the desktop. Please refer to this post, if you don’t know how to put it on the desktop.

  1. I believe that you might have a problem if you distributed the actual AYGSHELL.DLL that is part of the official Windows CE 5.0 package. However, the AYGSHELL.DLL that you distributed in the past is from a third-party source and is not a MS product, even though it shares the same name and provides similar functionality. There’s nothing illegal about that.

  2. I just added the XnView to my Mio. The program seems to run fine when I invoke it in FileMan. The desktop icon does not work. These are the changes I made to the main.ini file.
    ICONXPBUTTON
    x = 64
    y = 95
    Command = \Storage Card\Script\XnViewPocket\XnViewPocket.exe
    SizeNormal =64
    SizePushed =64
    ScaleAlpha = 80
    IconNormal = icons\XnViewPocket64.ico
    ScaleAlpha = 100
    IconPushed = icons\XnViewPocket64.ico
    When I use the icon I get this message – Cannot find “XnViewPocket”(or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the reqired libraries are available. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong. Thanks

  3. I made the change you recommended and I still have the same problem.
    ICONXPBUTTON
    x = 64
    y = 95
    Command = Storage CardScriptxnpocketxnpocket.exe
    SizeNormal =64
    SizePushed =64
    ScaleAlpha = 80
    IconNormal = iconsxnviewpocket64.ico
    ScaleAlpha = 100
    IconPushed = iconsxnviewpocket64.ico
    The only change is the word in the warning is now “xnpocket”
    The only other difference is in the instructions it makes a reference to copy icon file in the directory to the scriptsdesktopicons. There is no file just 3 icons which I copied.
    Any other possible suggestions?

  4. Bleep55,
    Your path to the command is still wrong. Just double check the path again. I suggest you put the whole XnViewPocket directory under script\programs and the path is
    \Storage Card\script\programs\XnViewPocket\xnpocket.exe
    .

  5. DUH – I fell like an idiot. I have been leaving out “program” in the path. While in the main.ini file I learned to change the icon addresses. I switched the left arrow with the with the GPS icon, Now the left arrow is on the left side of the screen. Thanks for the help.

  6. hi,
    i copied the files on my sdcard inserted on the FS loox N100 (win ce ) and the program seem to work. however, i have no access to the menu bar (file, view, tools…). it is not the only program that does it on my loox n100, is there something i can do to change that status? i use “wolf toolbar” to kill it insead of closing the program but it is not very clean.

    thanks for your help

  7. My guess is the bottom of the screen is hidden behind some program, therefore you can not see the menu bar at the bottom. Sorry, but I don’t have a solution for you.
